TASL Con 2022

Attendees will see how 8th grade students use the inquiry process to take research to another level by creating "hexagons" of information. Participants will see how students take what could be a "regular" research project and create a fun deliverable! Attendees will see a project take form from researching guiding questions to the creation of a deliverable hexagon filled with fun facts and individual student artistry. Important parts of the project will include research with books and databases, citation, hexagon creation, and presentation. Banish the “paper” and turn research into a fun product that incites pride and gives students an opportunity to share their learning!

Introducing students to "Old Style Gaming" is one way to increase interest in the middle school library. These games create a space to slow down and enjoy the library in a way that promotes ownership by the students.
